Overgaauw Abraham 2017
Following on from the maiden 2016 vintage this 2017 vintage was the last Abraham specifically made from the best hand picked parcels of grapes whereby assessing the ultimate potential of the best parcels off the farm.
The very small bottling of the 2017 makes this 100% barrel fermented Sauvignon blanc very special indeed. It's quality tells it's own story.
The Abraham was produced by using only the very best hand picked parcels of Sauvignon Blanc grapes from the vineyard. They were picked at optimum ripeness producing a crisp, fruity and thoroughly engaging wine. This unique aspect combined with the soils of Overgaauw contribute in creating a wonderfully complex Sauvignon Blanc, this creates and gives this wine its amazing well balanced natural acids and notes of minerality. The aroma and flavours are a combination of herbaceous greens and elegant tropical fruits. David’s belief in extended lees contact prior to bottling bears fruit in a wine with a good mouth feel and longevity.
